| on any set of good wheels. 1) I talk to the manager before anyone does anything. 2) I make it very clear the value of the wheels and if they don't want to make the attempt, then that's fine. I'd rather that happen than the wheels get ruined. 3) I make it also very clear that if anything happens, they will be making an insurance claim to have things repaired or replaced. So I always make sure that they agree to that. 4) I never bring the car in with the wheels. I take them off and bring them in off the car. I don't like air wrenches and they usually don't listen when I tell them to use a hand torque wrench. Not to mention, if I don't trust them with $4K wheels, I definitely don't trust them with the whole car. 5) I make sure they are not idiots and make them tell me everything they're going to do before they do it. For example, they best be using the wheel weights that stick on the inside of the wheels like they're supposed to. 6) The last thing I do is make sure they have the machines that don't touch the outer rim of the wheel. Discount Tire here locally has done all my nice wheels without any incidents and I watch everything they do. Bottom line is that they need to know they can't mess with you before something bad happens.
